Eyes just like mine
Lowered deep in shame
Bloodshot brown and black

We surf the crest of the flood
As the land bleeds rock and mud
We thought we built our walls high
Till the waves breached the sky
We climbed the highest mount
But at the peak the final scout
Denies us passage, sends us back down
Into a swirling see of a million eyes crying

The jackal inside
